Bio: Theron joined PE and Rec as the coordinator of operations in August 2019. Prior to joining the team, Theron was active in campus recreation at two fellow PAC-12 schools. Theron earned his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in exercise and wellness. While at ASU, he began working in campus recreation within facilities. After graduating from ASU, Theron worked at the University of Utah as a graduate assistant within the campus recreation department. He earned his master’s degree in parks, recreation, and tourism from Utah.
Theron’s passion for campus recreation is fueled by the students he works with. He loves working with students, applying student development theory into practice, and getting students involved in the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association, also known as NIRSA.
Outside of work, Theron and his wife enjoy drinking coffee, watching football, and playing with their two dogs. Theron also enjoys participating in F45 classes, playing intramural sports, and getting involved in campus events.
