Biography

Jill has coached all ages and all levels of competitive swimming since graduating with a BA in kinesiology from the University of Washington in 1984. She moved to Eugene in 1989 to pursue an MS in sport psychology. She also has an MS and PhD in counseling from Oregon State University. She currently coaches half time for Team Eugene Aquatics.

List of courses taught and current courses at the UO: She taught swim conditioning, running, and weight training courses at the UO when she was a graduate student, 1989–1991. She will begin teaching Swimming I.

Jill is passionate about using movement to improve health, wellness, and self-esteem. She is passionate about helping swimmers gain skills in the pool that translate to their lives (i.e., confidence, sense of community, physical exercise, proper technique). Last (but not least), Jill loves being on campus and feels inspired by the energy of the students and staff.

Jill loves yoga and practices it every day!

Fun fact: I am Canadian, born and raised in Vancouver, BC.
