Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if a class is full?
You may attend the first class meeting and talk with the instructor about the possibility of enrolling. Some classes are unable to over-enroll (i.e. Group Cycling).
Can I take a PE class for non-credit?
Yes. The fee for a non-credit class is $100 and tuition is not assessed. Class participants may pay class fee at the Rec Service Center (located in the Main Lobby). Faculty, staff, and community members are required to purchase membership or facility access to the Student Rec Center in order to participate in PE classes.
When can I sign up for a PE class for non-credit?
You can sign up for non-credit status in PE classes at the Service Center in the Student Rec Center the first day that Duck Web opens for registration each term.
Why are extra fees assessed for PE courses?
PE classes are not funded by tuition and general fees. Class fees cover the cost of instruction, equipment, administrative support, and facilities maintenance. The standard fee per credit is $85 or $100 for non-credit classes, however, in some cases, additional fees are required to pay for the use of equipment (scuba gear), transportation (outdoor pursuits outings), and certification (first aid/cpr). Refer to the Class Schedule for the fee for a specifc class.
How many classes can I count towards my general education requirements?
12 PE credits can be applied to a bachelor’s degree.
