Duck Trails Camps

We believe in fun, active, positive day camp experiences for every kid. Duck Trails staff create a low pressure, high energy, positive environment where kids are encouraged to build friendships and explore their creativity and sense of identity.

Each of our Eugene summer and school year camps feature a variety of unique activities designed to promote teamwork and friendship, and help children grow their self-esteem, confidence, leadership, and social skills.

Summer 2020 Update

Updated May 18 at 11:00 a.m.

Duck Trails Families,

Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold any of the planned Duck Trails camps for summer 2020. We are sorry to not be able to provide our programming for families this summer.

The decision to cancel Duck Trails was made after much deliberation, but with consideration for letting families know as soon as possible, to provide as much time as we could to make alternative arrangements. The decision was made with the following considerations:

  • The health and safety of our campers, counselors, and their families as well as the campus community.
  • Student Recreation Center closure, which will continue through the summer.
  • Limited student staff availability, as fewer than normal students are in Eugene this summer due to remote academic courses this spring and summer.
  • Continued social distancing and group activity restrictions, as outlined in the state’s reopening plan.

We have explored numerous alternatives including reducing group sizes and implementing physical distancing guidelines while at camp. But, due to the nature of our facilities, reduced staffing numbers, and the natural tendencies of children to want to socialize and play in close quarters, we are unable to put those guidelines into practice. However, we want to try to stay connected with families and provide the opportunity for your campers to still see some of their favorite counselors, albeit remotely. We have a plan in the works for how to accomplish that and if you would like to participate but your family did not participate in camp in 2019 and was not registered for 2020, please contact us at ducktrails@uoregon.edu.

Families who already paid for this summer’s offerings have been contacted with details regarding refunds. If you feel like you should have been contacted but were not, please reach out to us.

Thank you for your understanding. We apologize again for the inconvenience but please know that the safety of our Duck Trails community is of the utmost importance to us. As restrictions are lifted and children return to school, we will be announcing program offerings as they become available.

Take care and stay safe,

Duck Trails Admin Staff
