About Climbing and Outdoor Adventure Camp

Our Climbing and Outdoor Adventure Camp offers a wide variety of outdoor activities for teenage campers. Your camper will have the opportunity to unplug and learn crucial skills for safe travel in Oregon’s beautiful wilderness. There is a great wide, wonderful world outside, and it can be easy to miss these days in our electronic-filled world. Our camp offers an encouraging environment for your camper to step outside their comfort zone. Kind and impressive role models will make a lasting impression in a safe environment that is loaded with non-stop fun, excitement, and laughter. Campers will join up with other camps in the afternoons for lunch and other activities.


Who can attend?

Open to all children who will be entering sixth through eighth grade in the fall.


When is the camp and how long does it last?

Climbing and Outdoor Adventure Camps take place during the summer months. Each session lasts five days, unless otherwise specifed.

Drop-off for all campers in all camps will be from 7:45–9:00 a.m.; pick-up will be from 4:00–5:30 p.m.


What activities will take place?

Campers will learn the skills they need to have safe fun in the wilderness.

  • Rock climbing techniques
  • Building emergency shelters
  • Ecology lessons and activities
  • Off-campus field trips to hike and rock climb at local outdoor destinations
  • Free-choice activities

What if my preferred session is full?

Families can add their campers directly to the waitlists. Please proceed to the online registration link below, log in with your account, and all full sessions will have a "Waitlist" button.

Registration for summer 2024 Climbing and Outdoor Adventure Camp will open on Friday, March 22, at 1:00 p.m.

Cost of attendance is the estimated cost to attend the UO for the academic year. The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships provides estimates for cost of attendance information that goes beyond tuition and fees, and includes: living expenses (housing and food), books/supplies/equipment, transportation, and miscellaneous personal expenses.
