Biography

Teaching Credentials and Experience:

  • BS in human physiology from UO
  • certified Yoga Therapy practitioner
  • WomenStrength training (empowerment-based women’s self-defense)
  • Trauma Informed Care Basics and Crisis De-Escalation Training.

Courses: I currently teach Hatha I and the empowerment aspect of Women’s Self-Defense. I have taught Gentle Yoga, Hatha II, Partner Yoga, and Pilates at UO.

I’ve been teaching for PE and Rec since 2003 and I love it! Yoga is a vast discipline. Having a ten-week course allows me to touch upon many different aspects of yoga such as postures, breathing, philosophy, Sanskrit, history, and meditation. Women’s self-defense changes the way women see themselves in the world. It is an honor to witness women challenge themselves to find their voice, take up space, and find new ways to respond to gender socialization.

I love to cook and be active. My favorite activities include dancing, skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, biking, iceskating, climbing and LAUGHING.

Cost of attendance is the estimated cost to attend the UO for the academic year. The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships provides estimates for cost of attendance information that goes beyond tuition and fees, and includes: living expenses (housing and food), books/supplies/equipment, transportation, and miscellaneous personal expenses.
